Endorsement Announcement: Kahlil Seren for Cleveland Heights Mayor
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
After careful consideration and honest discussions with both remaining mayoral candidates, I am reaching out to ask that you join me in supporting Kahlil Seren for mayor of Cleveland Heights.
Please know that I have done my due diligence in balancing out the strengths and shortcomings of each candidate. As you know, I am adamant that we need a strong financial leader in our first elected mayor, and when I compare the financial background and policy experience of both candidates, Kahlil Seren is the clear choice.
Below are the primary reasons I have decided to advise and support Kahlil in his campaign::
Kahlil has a depth of knowledge and government experience at both the city and county level which place him far ahead of his opponent in terms of job-readiness
Kahlil has completed extensive public finance training in his graduate program and taught it as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame. More importantly, he has had additional in-depth training and certification on economic development finance.
While Kahlil is not a “finance person” per se, he has been working on county budgets of over $1B, vetting contracts and making sound recommendations at the county level for over ten years. Please note that I will stay involved with the development of city budgets in collaboration with staff and the mayor.
In my role as your councilwoman, it is my intention to support whichever candidate is elected mayor. My work for the good of our community did not end with the primary campaign.
But through this endorsement, I am asking each of you to place the same trust you have in me with Kahlil Seren as the clear choice for our mayor and the long-term financial security of our community.
