The Issues

I bring a strong financial background and management skills to city leadership, together with progressive values. The issues and concerns that are important our residents will be the cornerstones of my administration.

RACIAL EQUITY

“Racial equity is at the forefront of my legislative and budgetary priorities. We need to end structural racism, wherever we can, whenever we can, and however we can.” Hart co-sponosored the development of a Cleveland Heights Racial Justice Task Force and supports the use of racial impact statements ensuring that legislation does not have a negative racial impact.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

During her time on council, Top of the Hill and the Cedar Lee Meadowbrook mixed use development projects represent over $100 million in investment in our community. Hart has a long history of advocating for economic development in Cleveland Heights. According to experienced financial professionals, our taxes are too high and expanding the tax base with more jobs and stronger property values has to be a top priority.

HOUSING

“Residential Housing is our biggest asset and our biggest business. Now we are seeing more and more outside investors coming into our city and buying property and letting their properties and our neighborhoods run down. Having a robust inspection program and a fully staffed, active housing department is essential to maintaining the City’s housing stock.”

BUSINESS DISTRICTS

Our second biggest asset is the business districts that we all love. Walking to them and through them is a true Cleveland Heights experience. Some businesses are still in recovery from COVID-19 and there are too many vacant properties. We need a proactive business development strategy to continue supporting business owners and fill the vacancies.
